The Gatewatch's resident expert of taking her ball and going home did just that after the War of the Spark. While some of her comrades didn't appreciate this act of isolation, Nissa made the most of it. After activating the Lithoform Engine that she stole from Nahiri, the artifact, much to Nissa's horror, wilted the nature around her and killed the elves elemental allies. Before the dust had the chance to settle, Nissa absorbed the decay, giving herself full access to Zendikar's black mana; she was able to undo the damage and make her plane all the stronger.
